Summer’s here! Whether you’re off on holiday or staying close to home, we know this season can be challenging for slimmers.

Your local Slimming World group is bursting with support and strategies to help you feel sun-sational.

In the meantime, here are our top tips to help you keep your weight loss cool, all summer long…

Pack a picnic

Take a Food Optimising hamper to the park, beach or tourist hotspot – it’s a great way to stay in control of what you eat on days out.

Let’s play!

The kids being off school can make it harder to find time for fitness. That’s where active playtime is a game-changer! Take a ball to the park or beach, or get the skipping ropes and hula hoops out in the garden.

Nice ices

If you’re busy looking after children – and possibly balancing work and other responsibilities, too – cooking in bulk is an ideal way to get ahead.

Active holidays

Make the most of your summer holiday destination by getting active somewhere new. Here are some ideas…

  • Boost your step count by exploring your surroundings.
  • Make a splash in the hotel swimming pool (or the sea, if it’s warm enough!).
  • Play classic beach games like volleyball, football or frisbee.
  • Get out on the water with sports like kayaking, surfing or paddle boarding.
  • Hire a bike or a pedalo to help you get around.

Stay supported

Between seaside trips and summer socialising, it can feel like there’s temptation at every turn. Having summertime support is so important, and you’ll always find a warm welcome in your local Slimming World group. You can also join our digital-only service, Slimming World Online, to connect with like-minded slimmers in the Community.

Make it motivating

As challenging as summer can be, it can also be a fantastic source of motivation. Whether you want to feel confident in a sundress or shorts, play in the pool with the kids or try out different rides at the theme park, remembering your ‘why’ can make it easier to stay on track.
