🗒 Instructions
This is an overview of the instructions. Full instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of the page.

- Pulse the Oreo cookies in a food processor until crushed into fine crumbs. Transfer the crumbs to a large bowl.
- Add the softened cream cheese to the bowl.
- Mix the cookie crumbs and cream cheese with a stand mixer or handheld mixer until fully combined.
- Scoop the mixture and roll into 1-inch balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze the balls for 20 minutes until firm.

- While the balls chill, melt the candy melts. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate color of your choice with a fork, and gently tap off the excess. Place the dipped balls on the parchment paper to harden. Use the remaining melted chocolate to drizzle the balls and top them with sprinkles!
🥫 Storage
Store these easy patriotic treats in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10 days! Place sheets of parchment paper between the balls if you stack them.
📚 Variations
- Use Golden Oreo cookies instead of the original chocolate Oreo cookies if you prefer a vanilla flavor.
- Add a splash of vanilla extract to the Oreo ball mixture for extra depth of flavor.
- For a boozy holiday twist, mix in some Irish cream, flavored liqueur, or light rum to the Oreo ball mixture.
- Other brands of chocolate (or vanilla) sandwich cookies can be used to make these truffle balls.
- Choose gluten-free Oreo cookies when catering to gluten allergies.
- Make these festive no bake desserts for other holidays by simply swapping the red, blue, and white chocolate melts for other colors and using different sprinkles. Green and white chocolate melts with gold sprinkles are perfect for St Patrick’s day, for example.

👩🏻🍳 Tips
- Use a cookie scoop to scoop the Oreo truffles mixture. This will help you create uniform-sized patriotic Oreo balls which will harden at the same rate in the freezer and also look more attractive when serving.
- I always line my baking sheet with parchment paper for an easier cleanup and to prevent the chocolate-coated Oreo balls from sticking.
- You can melt the chocolate melts using a double boiler or in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between.
- Add the sprinkles when the chocolate coating and drizzle are still wet so that they stick to the balls.
- Mix in a tiny drop of coconut oil or avocado oil to the melted chocolate if the chocolate is too thick.

Well, I remembered that one time that Karen showed up to the neighborhood block party with those handmade white truffles with patriotic sprinkles. Everyone’s jaws hit the floor. In the meantime, I had made refrigerated sugar cookies. I felt small, like the fruit fly on Marta’s watermelon slice. Next time I swore that I’d step up my dessert contribution.
