One of the craziest parts of becoming an adult just may be the knowledge that you’re the one responsible for figuring out what’s for dinner…every single night. Sure, we love having easy weeknight meals in our arsenal—like four-ingredient pretzel fish or slow cooker chicken tacos—but there are other hacks we’ve discovered that keep family dinners quick and easy. Among those kitchen shortcuts? Instant rice: a pantry staple that’s always worth keeping on hand for a fast side dish.

Ben’s Original has long been keeping mealtime simple with its line of Ready Rice—tons of rice varieties that heat up right in their package in about 90 seconds and are ready-to-serve. Now, the brand is adding a few new products to grocery store shelves that will seemingly make feeding our families even easier on busy evenings.

Ben’s Original New Single-Serve Rice Cups and Street Food Flavors

First up is a twist on the Ben’s Original Ready Rice we already know. Ben’s Original Single-Serve Cups are 2.4-ounce, single-serve cups of Ready Rice that come in four different flavors: Jasmine Rice, Spanish Style Rice, Fried Rice, and Roasted Chicken. These on-the-go rice cups are easy to heat, too. Just lift the film covering halfway and add water to the fill line inside the cup. Stir, microwave the cup on high for 3 1/2 minutes, and let stand for 2 minutes before giving the cup one more stir. In about 5 minutes, you’ll have a personal serving of flavorful rice at the ready, no stovetop or powdery spice mixes required.

Ben’s Original Street Food line, which originally launched in 2024, is adding two new varieties to its lineup as well. With existing options like Bean & Rice Burrito Bowl and Gumbo with Chicken Andouille Sausage, the heat-and-serve meals are great for packing for lunch or eating on a busy weeknight for dinner. The latest flavors to hit store shelves are Honey BBQ Flavored Rice with Chicken and Teriyaki Style Rice with Chicken. These rice bowls pack up to 13 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber, and microwave in just 90 seconds.

All of Ben’s Original’s new rice products are in grocery stores nationwide now. We were able to spot new Street Food flavors on sale at Kroger for around $4 each. The Ready Rice in single-serve form is currently available at Walmart and Amazon for under $2.

Need ideas for how to use these starchy shortcuts? Turn them into a full meal with this Crockpot Teriyaki Chicken and Rice recipe, use them in a quick Easy Egg-Fried Rice, or make easy DIY poke bowls.
