Key Takeaways

  • Dairy Queen just announced its fall menu.
  • The lineup includes a returning fan-favorite Blizzard, as well as two new desserts.

While the calendar still says August, fall menu items are starting to get announced left and right by fast food restaurants, from Krispy Kreme’s returning Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Doughnut to Starbucks’ signature Pumpkin Spice Latte. Pumpkin spice-flavored…well, everything might not officially be out at most restaurants yet, but customers’ reactions are already mixed.

No matter if you think it’s too soon to enjoy a warm, spiced coffee or you’ve been waiting for autumn all year, there’s one thing we can probably all agree on: it doesn’t feel like fall in most parts of the country.

So, if you’re still experiencing a summer heat wave, but are already ready to enjoy the fall flavors, Dairy Queen has you covered. Because when DQ’s fall menu launches later this month, you can still cool off with some ice cream while enjoying the pumpkin, maple, and caramel flavors of fall.

Let the countdown begin: Dairy Queen’s new Fall Treat Collection is officially hitting menus later this month.

This year’s fall lineup includes a returning fan-favorite Blizzard, plus two all-new treats. We’ll cut right to the chase: yes, the beloved Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is returning for another year.

The Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat, which was originally introduced in 1991, is a fall staple. The Blizzard features DQ’s soft serve blended with real pumpkin pie pieces and garnished with whipped cream and nutmeg.

What may surprise you, however, is that the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is Dairy Queen’s only returning fall Blizzard. Other fan-loved autumnal sweets—like last year’s Oreo Fudge Brownie Blizzard and the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pie Blizzard from 2023—didn’t make the cut. Though, of course, you can still get your fill of Reese’s with the chain’s latest Reese’s Caramel Craze Blizzard.

Instead of bringing back treats, Dairy Queen is releasing two all-new ones: the Caramel Toffee Cookie Blizzard and Maple Cookie Shake.

The new Caramel Toffee Cookie Blizzard Treat features soft, chewy cookie pieces, caramel, and toffee blended with soft serve. And the new Maple Cookie Shake has a maple cookie base combined with soft serve and milk, and topped with whipped cream.

DQ’s new fall collection will hit menus at participating restaurants nationwide on Aug. 29, where it will be available for a limited time. If you’re still holding on to those last few sips of summer, though, there’s still time to grab Dairy Queen’s Dipped Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard and everyone’s favorite S’mores Blizzard before they’re gone.
