There’s an active recall on a popular brand of ice cream sold in 16 states, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This is due to mislabeling, resulting in the ice cream containing undeclared allergens.

The product affected is Blue Bell ice cream sold at retail locations in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Specifically, the flavor impacted is Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream as it was mistakenly packaged in a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough half gallon carton with a Moo-llennium Crunch lid. There’s a lot code of “061027524” printed on the affected lids. Check your freezer for this product, and if you have the recalled ice cream on hand, return to your place of purchase for a full refund.

While there are no illnesses or allergic reactions connected to this recall, the ice cream has undeclared almonds, walnuts and pecans due to the packaging error. Those with allergies to these nuts may have a reaction as severe as anaphylaxis. If you are showing signs like hives, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea or tightness of the throat after eating the mislabeled ice cream, call 911 immediately.
