This recipe is inspired by Keftedesa traditional Greek meatball and is made with a few simple ingredients and fresh mint and parsley. I love these burger patties because they’re so easy to make and really flavorful. You can also do so much with them – eat it on its own, jazz it up like a typical burger with your fav toppings, or make into sliders to serve as an appetizer.

Beef – For this recipe I used ground beef. However, you can totally use your fav ground protein to make these. Whether it’s a plant-based substitute, ground turkey, chicken, or lamb.

Herbs – The key to this Greek Burger Patty is the fresh herbs. You need fresh herbs to really make these pop! Do not substitute for dried herbs. The mint and parsley make these SOOO good.

👩‍🍳 How to Make Greek Burger Patties

  1. Prepare the burgers (biftekia): In a mixing bowl combine the ground beef, grated onion, pressed garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, olive oil, parsley, mint, salt and pepper. Mix together to fully combine. Divide the mixture into 12 portions and use your hands to form into burger-sized patties.
  2. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of olive oil or avocado oil, cook 3-4 burgers at a time, cooking 3-5 minutes per side until cooked through to your desired temperature.
  3. Serve with lots of fresh herbs like mint and a squeeze of lemon juice.
