Comedian and broadcaster Hardeep Singh Kohli has appeared in court facing sex-related charges involving three women. The alleged incidents took place between 2007 and 2016.
Kohli appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on August 8, 2025, to face six charges. These relate to alleged offences at various locations, including the BBC studios at Pacific Quay, Glasgow.
He denies all the charges. Kohli is known for appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018.
One charge alleges that Kohli indecently assaulted a woman by squeezing her bottom and attempting to hug her at the BBC studios. This is said to have happened between April 2007 and September 2008.
Between the same dates, he is also accused of committing a breach of the peace in the woman’s presence at an unknown bar and restaurant in Glasgow.
Further charges include an alleged indecent assault at the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow, where Kohli is said to have stroked the woman’s back and touched her hair during the same period.
Kohli faces charges relating to a second woman. She alleges he indecently assaulted her in June 2008 at the Cross Keys Hotel in Canonbie, Dumfries and Galloway.
Prosecutors say Kohli seized the woman’s arm, lunged towards her, and attempted to kiss her. On the same occasion, he allegedly committed a breach of the peace and performed a sex act in her presence.
A third woman alleges Kohli sexually assaulted her in December 2016 at the Yes Bar in Glasgow. The complaint states he seized her by the body and tried to insert his tongue in her mouth.
Kohli has lodged a special defence against the indecent assault charge linked to the Cross Keys Hotel. He claims the act was consensual, the court heard.
Vulnerable witness orders have been put in place for all three women. Both the prosecution and defence agreed to a joint minute regarding these measures.
Defence lawyer Urfan Dar said: “There is a special defence of consent for charge four.”
Prosecutor Sean Docherty confirmed that seven civilian witnesses and one police officer will give evidence for the prosecution.
Sheriff John McCormick set the trial date for November 24 at Glasgow Sheriff Court. It is expected to last five days.
Kohli was released on bail following the hearing.
He was first arrested and charged in August 2023 in connection with “non-recent” sexual offences. The charges came after an investigation prompted by concerns raised by several people.
In 2020, Kohli faced accusations of sexual harassment from multiple women. He issued a statement then, saying:
“It is now clear to me that my actions and words made women feel intimidated, undermined and undervalued.
“For this, I apologise unreservedly and can only hope to live a life of greater understanding.”
