The new season of the hit Netflix series “Quarterback” takes us behind the scenes of the ups and downs our favorite NFL quarterbacks face in a season. And, it’s clear that Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins—back for his second season of the show—faced quite a few downs during the 2024 NFL season.

He was traded from the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a season-ending torn Achilles tendon. He moved his family to Atlanta to start as the Falcons’ QB, but after multiple poor-performing games, riddled with interceptions and turnovers, Cousins was benched in the final games of the season. And yet, through it all, Cousins kept a positive attitude and remained his ever-charming self.

Not only did he handle the season with grace, but he also put a smile on our faces every time he was on the screen. We always knew Cousins was a humble football player—what with his love for Kohl’s cash—but this season of “Quarterback” really proved that Cousins is just like us, even with a multi-million dollar contract.

The season starts with Cousins’ recovery from his Achilles injury, and he remarks that his rehab reminds him of the Rankin/Bass “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town” movie when Kris Kringle and the Winter Warlock sing “Put One Foot In Front of the Other.” Between Cousins singing that classic Christmas tune, him and his brother belting Cher’s “Believe” in the carand his ringing endorsement for Great Clips, we almost could have forgotten that the show was following Cousins’ journey to the bench.

What really piqued our interest, however, was how Cousins spent his post-game. Some days, it was playing football with his sons in his basement, while other times, it was spending time with his brother while sipping on his favorite drink, the Roy Rogers mocktailmade with Coca-Cola, grenadine, and maraschino cherries.

However, two times during “Quarterback,” Cousins was seen hitting a drive-thru after a game.

Kirk Cousins’ Go-To Fast Food Burger

Cousins doesn’t just stop at any old fast food restaurant. Instead, he opts for a Southern classic: Cook Out.

“I’ve always wanted to stop at this Cook Out on the way home from a game,” Cousins tells his brother. “Should we do it?”

“Fresh hamburgers,” his brother responds.

“I think we have to,” Cousins says.

And, so, they do, and Cousins orders himself a Cook Out Burger Meal.

Anyone who has ever been to Cook Out knows that the best part of the restaurant is its side selection, which ranges from corn dogs and quesadillas to fries and hushpuppies. However, because of the Netflix editing, we don’t know exactly what Cousins orders as a side—or if he even orders one at all.

“I haven’t had Cook Out in like a year,” Cousins tells the employee. “And I’ve always wanted to go to this Cook Out after a Falcons game ’cause it’s close to the stadium.”

“Wait, [do] you play with the Falcons or something,” the employee asks.

“No, I was at the game,” Cousins responds.

Then, “We will see you again someday after a Falcons game,” he says as he drives away.

And Cousins lives up to that promise. Later in the season, he takes his brother and son through the Cook Out drive-thru again. Though this time the order is overshadowed by the Cousins brothers’ rendition of “Believe,” so we once again don’t find out how the quarterback takes his sides.

But, now we can add Cousins’ Cook Out stop to our list of NFL player-loved chains, like the Watt brothers’ Culvers, Patrick Mahomes’ Whataburgerand the Kelce brothers’ Burger King and Wendy’s.
