Crumbles are an incredibly easy dessert to put together, and no matter what fruit you choose as you base, you know you are in for a treat! They are budget-friendly, delicious, and so versatile, my go to when I have some fruit around that needs using up sooner rather than later.

Pears are in season from late August, and my goodness, they are so delicious! I love all sorts of fruit, and I always try to enjoy as much seasonal produce as I can, the farmers’ market is your best place for finding local fruit that is as good as it gets.

Pears and walnuts are a great combo, they simply work wonderfully well together and make any dish special. The walnuts add a fantastic crunch to the topping, as well as the oats, whereas the pears and cinnamon stay juicy and delicious.

Serve this crumble with good old vanilla ice cream or a classic custardand you have a heavenly scruptious dessert that your whole family will absolutely love. The crumble doesn’t need storing in the fridge, and it lasts well for a few days, so worth baking a big batch!
