It’s no secret that filming for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is underway, and I can barely contain my excitement. While both Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep have been spotted shooting scenes as they reprise their iconic roles of Andy Sachs and Miranda Priestly, you might be wondering where Stanley Tucci’s character, Nigel, is. Don’t worry, the Tucc is headed back to “Runway,” too, and soon.
Tucci shared a video on Tiktok saying that he “took a little break from packing” for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” shoot to make himself a quick and easy lunch. “Does anyone else cook to procrastinate?” he wrote in the caption.
Tucci’s procrastination technique is oh-so relatable for us home cooks. And, I guess if I have to wait months before the second “Devil Wears Prada” heads to theaters, at least I have some Tucci-approved recipes to keep me satiated while I count down the days.
Stanley Tucci’s Few-Ingredient, 10-Minute Lunch
The actor’s latest recipe combines a few ingredients that we know the Tucc loves, including beans and tuna. However, it isn’t the same Tuscan bean salad that he shared last summer. Instead, Tucci’s lunch is a combination of the light summer salad, plus one of his favorite pasta dishes, Spaghetti with tuna.
Spaghetti Con Tonno is a simple recipe that Tucci detailed in his latest book, “What I Ate In One Year (and Related Thoughts).” It’s a pasta dish that combines tomato sauce with canned tuna, onion, and basil.
So, for lunch, instead of serving the tuna-filled tomato sauce over spaghetti, Tucci opts for it over a bed of white cannellini beans.

In addition to the tomato sauce, made with tuna, onion, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper, Tucci tops the saucy beans with “twice-baked bread.”
“It’s crusty hard, hard bread that softens up once it’s in there,” he says in the video.
By now, we all know that Tucci doesn’t share measurements, but this dish is an easy one to make by eye. When I made it, I used one onion, three cloves of garlic, one can of tuna, about three-quarters of a jar of tomato sauce, one can of cannellini beans, a handful of basil leaves, salt and pepper to taste, and half a loaf of crusty bread that I toasted in the oven. I threw all the ingredients together in a skillet on the stove to warm them all up and served.
“It’s really good, really hearty,” Tucci says—and he’s right. Much like his Spaghetti Con Tonno, which he admits sounds gross but says is “absolutely delicious,” the saucy beans and tuna surprised me with their delicious flavor.
And I didn’t mind eating the hearty meal on a hot day in the summer—though the gloomy weather in the background of Tucci’s video (he explains that it’s raining in England) might contribute to his extra-satisfying, protein-packed lunch.
Either way, the simple dish comes together in mere minutes—especially if you use jarred tomato sauce, like I did. So, while the saucy bean dish would make a great cozy, comfort meal on a rainy day, it’s so easy to make that I’ll be adding it to my lunchtime rotation for any day of the week.
