The 2025 Bonne Maman Advent Calendar Has Returned

I can’t think of anything more jolly than opening up each day of an Advent calendar in August, all in one sitting. No, really—I’m not even trying to be sarcastic. I loved the excitable kid feeling it gave me, especially since it involved reaching for mini jars with checkered tops from the legendary brand Good mom.

There are few Advent calendars folks will spring for in the heat of summer, and the limited-edition Bonne Maman calendar is one of them. Released earlier in the month, the 2025 version of this eight-time-sold-out holiday adventure is still available for purchase, but I doubt it’ll be for long. At this point, I have tested their Advent calendars for roughly four years in a row, and I have to say: This is my favorite yet.

There’s a reason this calendar is so coveted. Each year, the brand fills it with 24 unique spreads, each fitted into the cutest 1-ounce jars. These spreads aren’t typically available outside of the calendar, which is why it’s a real treat to see and savor the season’s newest selection. I received a sneak peek calendar to test (it’s a hard job, but someone has to do it), and I was screeching like a kid in a candy store with each jar I pulled out.

Warning, I’m about to drop some tasty spoilers: There were not one, but three caramel spreads this year, all of which are lick-off-the-spoon delicious, though they’d be great on top of homemade banana bread or even on some overnight oats. Not only that, the brand really went in a cottage-core-esque floral direction. There are jams infused with rose, lavender and violet. I also tried a Szechuan peppercorn-laden fruit spread that was born to be added to stir-fry sauces and marinades. They even included some of my favorites from last year, like the blueberry maple syrup spread and the classic strawberry rhubarb. My favorite jam in this year’s mix, by far, was the apricot lavender (I ate the entire jar right then and there). It was perfectly tart, sweet, floral and fruity. I wouldn’t change a thing about it, apart from maybe having a larger-sized jar of it.

While the Advent calendar packaging stayed the same, Bonne Maman revamped the calendar. Instead of a fully enclosed design that requires you to punch through the day’s spot, each spread is packaged in a box that’s nestled in the calendar. The numbers are in order, making it almost too easy to open them. Once you grab the day’s box, a seasonal message appears behind it for a cheery touch. The design is just as magical as last year’s, with Bonne Maman ornament-adorned Christmas trees, Santa’s helpers, reindeer and more, all in a snowy scene.

I appreciated how much neater the process was, and every time this Advent calendar falls into my lap, I remember just how magical it is. Not only is it fun, but it’s practical. The jams last for roughly a year unopened, and you can continue to savor them throughout winter. It also makes for such a lovely gift! They sell out quickly every year, so I’d buy one now, while it’s still available.
