Chitral – August 2, 2025: Rescue 1122 teams saved two men today after they got stranded while swimming in the Chitral River, violating Section 144.
Police identified the swimmers as Yasir Shah and Ishtiaq. Authorities arrested them on the spot and placed them in police lock-up.
Deputy Commissioner Rao Hashim Azim ordered strict legal action for breaching the ban. The district administration had imposed Section 144 to prevent accidents during the high-flow season.
