Growing chard
We prefer to develop our personal swiss chard within the Northern Hemisphere. The vegetable does not develop in a tropical local weather, I attempted it.
Swiss Chard seeds are sown out in March and April after the final frost, and by June chances are you’ll already harvest your first leaves with stalks.
In reality, you’ll be able to harvest your first leaves 30 days after sowing. I discovered this swiss chard growing guide helpful. You can proceed to reap till the primary frost in fall.
Young smaller leaves are extra tender and are usually higher fitted to salads as a result of they don’t seem to be that robust in taste.
We have a behavior of permitting the plant to develop outsized, which is okay too.
Swiss Chard is harvested by slicing it on the lowest level of the stem, near the ground and bulb.
