A recipe for Hawawshi (Egyptian Meat Stuffed Bread)! Aish Baladi (Egyptian Bread) is crammed with a spiced meat combination and baked till cooked by and golden.

Ingredients

1 pound (450 grams) floor beef not lean

1 medium onion peeled and finely chopped

2 cloves garlic peeled and minced

1 tomato seeds eliminated, finely chopped

1/2 inexperienced bell pepper stem and seeds discarded, finely chopped

1/2 jalapeño pepper non-compulsory, stem and seeds discarded, finely chopped

1/4 cup (5 grams) recent parsley chopped

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon floor allspice

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/4 teaspoon freshly floor black pepper

1/4 teaspoon floor cumin

Pinch floor cinnamon

Pinch freshly floor nutmeg

Ghee or melted butter for brushing

Instructions

1. In a big bowl, gently combine the bottom beef, onion, garlic, tomato, bell pepper, jalapeño, parsley, salt, allspice, paprika, coriander, black pepper, cardamom, cumin, cinnamon, and nutmeg simply till mixed.

2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at the very least an hour.

3. Preheat oven to 400˚ (200˚C).

4. Carefully minimize a small slit on one facet of the bread or pita about 2 inches (5 centimeters) broad. Gently add about 1/4-1/3 cup of the meat combination and press throughout the highest to push the meat into a good layer. Repeat with remaining bread and meat.
